DepositPhotos is a fairly new stock photo/vector website. Currently they offer over 617,000 royalty-free stock photos and vectors, with close to 60,000 new photos and vectors added weekly.
Images are organized in categories ranging from Abstract, Holidays & Events to Textures & Backgrounds. You can also search the website using the search box and enter in a keyword for an image you are looking for.

When trying the search function, the results were not flooded with images that weren’t even close to what I was looking for. It allowed me to find what I was looking for very fast.
If you have ever searched for images then you know that some stock image websites display so many irrelevant results when searching for a particular keyword. Going through pages and pages just to find something close to what you are looking for is very time consuming.
That wasn’t the case with DepositPhotos.

When you find that image you want, you have a choice of sizes from XS to XXL depending upon the size of the original image.  The price of the image is dependent upon the size of the photo you want with smaller images being the less expensive (of course).
Images purchased can be downloaded again and again during the first 72 hours after payment, without an additional fee.
I’m sure most of the time you will be downloading and saving the image to your computer but this is good to know whenever you’re in a situation when you are away from home or work and are not able to save the file.

Buying Credits

Credits can be purchased by 1 of 4 options:

1. Pay-by-Credits – This is a Pay-As-Go option that lets you purchase any image on the site but they also give you a second image completely free.
2. Subscription Plan – Plans offered are 1 Month, 3 Months, 6 Months and 1 Year, each with a certain amount of images allowed to download per day.
3. Pay-by-Phone – This options comes in handy when you need an image fast! Send one SMS message and you can buy up to 15 images on the go.
4. Pay-by-Bonus – For every image you purchase with your credit, you will receive a Bonus Image Credit to your account. Use this bonus anytime you want.

The shopping Cart area is very easy to understand and not as confusing compared to other stock photo sites. You are presented with a table where you can choose the size you want to purchase along with whichever the 4 methods (mentioned above) you would like to use to purchase the file.
You will always know how many credits you have available because you will also see your Available Credits, Credits it will take To Purchase and your Credits Remaining after you make the purchase, all on the fly! I thought this was very useful because it allowed me to decide what image size to purchase and how it would effect my credit balance. With many other sites, your credits are on one page and the shopping cart on another and you pretty much would have to guesstimate everything.
Payment can be made with a Credit Card, Paypal, Moneybookers or WebMoney account.

Sellers

If you are a photographer, DepositPhotos works pretty well when uploading your images to sell on the website. Files can be uploaded via FTP and once that is done you can select which ever category you want the file to appear in and that’s it. Of course you can add keywords and other info but the process is very simple compared to other similar sites.

They pay sellers a commission between 40-60% of a purchased file’s price. You are assigned a commission level based on the amount of work sold on the site so when you sell more work, your level and commission rate increases.

This is a photo taken by a good friend of mine. Her name is AnitaM and she is a Photographer out of NYC.
One of the things I enjoy looking at are photos of nature. I also love different shades of blues. So when I first saw this photo my reaction was “WOW”! I couldn’t stop staring at it. Check out how the darker blue on top blends into the lighter blue at the bottom of the photo. Kinda like a gradient effect, not produced by any imaging program, but produced by Mother Nature herself. Also the black and white colors of the birds gives this photo a nice touch, perfect for this new era of racial harmony we’re about to embark on.
